UHF Reader Solutions in Bangladesh

Hands-free, long-range identification for vehicles and assets

At a busy gate, every stop costs time. Drivers wind down windows, swipe cards, wait for guards to check passes, and queues build up behind them. In warehouses and yards, staff count assets by hand, and items go missing without anyone noticing until the next audit.

A UHF reader identifies tagged vehicles, people and assets from a distance, without stopping and without line-of-sight scanning. A vehicle with a windshield tag drives up, the reader identifies it, and the barrier opens automatically. Assets with UHF tags are recorded as they pass through a doorway or dock.

Smart Safety & Automations Ltd (SSAL) supplies, installs and integrates UHF reader systems for residential complexes, corporate campuses, factories, car parks, ports, logistics hubs, hospitals and government facilities across Bangladesh. One partner handles your project from the first site survey to long-term support.

UHF Reader Types We Offer

Integrated UHF Readers
All-in-one units with a built-in antenna, mounted at gates and car park lanes. Simple to install, and ideal for most vehicle access points.

Fixed UHF Readers with External Antennas
A reader connected to one or more separate antennas, for wider lanes, multiple lanes or longer read zones such as dock doors and warehouse gates.

Desktop UHF Readers / Encoders
Used at the security or admin desk to enroll and register new UHF tags into the access control or parking system.

Handheld UHF Readers
Portable readers for asset audits, inventory checks and patrol verification across warehouses, stores and yards.

UHF Tags & Credentials
Windshield stickers, anti-metal tags, headlamp tags and UHF cards that work with your readers.

How It Works at a Vehicle Gate

01 Tag the vehicle
Each authorized vehicle receives a UHF windshield tag registered to the owner, department or flat number.

02 Drive up
As the vehicle approaches, the reader identifies the tag from a distance, with no need to stop or roll down the window.

03 Check access
The access control or parking system confirms the vehicle is authorized for that gate and time.

04 Open the barrier
The boom barrier opens automatically, and the entry is logged with time and date.

05 Exit and record
On exit, the vehicle is read again, giving a complete in-and-out history.

Key Features

  • Long-range reading: identifies tags from several meters away, depending on the reader, antenna and tag.
  • Hands-free entry: vehicles pass without stopping, swiping or showing a pass.
  • Fast multi-tag reading: reads multiple tags quickly in busy lanes and doorways, on supported models.
  • Weather-resistant design: outdoor-rated housings built for Bangladesh’s heat, rain and humidity.
  • Standard interfaces: connects to access controllers, parking systems and software through common interfaces such as Wiegand, RS-485 or TCP/IP, depending on the model.
  • Tamper-resistant windshield tags: tags designed to stop working if removed and moved to another vehicle, on supported tag types.
  • Barrier integration: opens boom barriers and gates automatically for authorized vehicles.
  • Complete entry logs: every read recorded for security, billing and reporting.
  • Combined with ANPR: use UHF and number plate recognition together for two-factor vehicle verification.

UHF Reader or ANPR?

UHF readers read a tag fitted to the vehicle. They work reliably in rain, darkness and with dirty or damaged number plates, but every vehicle needs a registered tag. They’re best for residents, staff and regular vehicles.

ANPR cameras read the number plate itself, so no tag is needed. They’re ideal for visitors and unregistered vehicles, but accuracy depends on plate condition, lighting and camera placement.

Many sites use both: UHF for registered vehicles and ANPR for visitors, or both together for two-factor verification at high-security gates.

Where UHF Readers Are Used

  • Residential Complexes & Apartments: automatic entry for resident vehicles
  • Corporate Offices & Campuses: staff vehicle access without stopping
  • Car Parks & Shopping Malls: subscriber and monthly-pass parking
  • RMG Factories & Industrial Sites: truck, staff and vehicle gate control
  • Hospitals: staff and doctor parking access
  • Banks & Financial Institutions: executive and cash-van vehicle access
  • Ports & Logistics Hubs: truck identification at gates and docks
  • Warehouses: asset and goods movement tracking
  • Government & High-Security Sites: registered vehicle access with full audit trail

What You Gain

  • No more gate queues: registered vehicles enter without stopping.
  • Less guard effort: fewer manual checks and pass inspections.
  • Accurate records: every vehicle entry and exit logged automatically.
  • Works in all conditions: reliable reading in rain, darkness and dust.
  • Stronger control: only registered, authorized vehicles get in.
  • Better asset visibility: know when tagged items move in and out.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far can a UHF reader read a tag?
Read range depends on the reader, antenna, tag type and installation. Typical vehicle access setups read tags from several meters away. We confirm the right range for your lanes during the site survey.

Does the vehicle need to stop?
No. Vehicles only need to slow down to a safe approach speed, and the reader identifies the tag as they arrive.

Can a windshield tag be moved to another vehicle?
Tamper-resistant windshield tags are designed to stop working if peeled off, which helps prevent tags from being shared or transferred.

Does UHF work in rain or at night?
Yes. UHF reading doesn’t depend on light or plate visibility, so it works reliably in rain, darkness and dusty conditions.

Can UHF readers work with our existing access control or parking system?
Often, yes. Most UHF readers connect through standard interfaces. Share your system details and we’ll confirm compatibility.

Should I choose UHF or ANPR?
UHF suits registered vehicles like residents and staff, and ANPR suits visitors. Many sites use both, and our engineers will recommend the best combination.

Is the site survey free?
Yes. A certified engineer will visit your site within 48 hours and recommend the right solution.

Do you supply tags and provide maintenance?
Yes. We supply UHF tags, and we provide preventive maintenance, spare parts and 24/7 emergency support.
