Modular Data Center

Prefabricated data centres, UPS, precision cooling — Tier I–IV

Overview

What we offer

A complete toolkit — purpose-built for your environment.

A modular data centre is a prefabricated, factory-built data infrastructure solution that delivers the compute, storage, network, power, cooling, and physical security capabilities of a traditional data centre — but in a standardised, rapidly deployable format. Components are engineered and tested at the factory, shipped to site, and integrated in days or weeks rather than months. The result is faster time to operation, more predictable cost, and performance that meets or exceeds custom-built equivalents.

Bangladesh's data centre market is growing at an extraordinary pace. Regulatory changes requiring financial institutions to store customer data locally under Bangladesh Bank's ICT guidelines, combined with the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission's data localisation framework and the requirements of the PDPO 2025 Personal Data Protection Ordinance, are driving significant enterprise investment in local data infrastructure. At the same time, international investors in Bangladesh's Special Economic Zones are demanding data infrastructure that meets international standards — not because of local regulation, but because their global IT governance frameworks require it.

Traditional data centre construction in Bangladesh is slow, expensive, and uncertain. Civil construction delays, imported equipment lead times, MEP contractor coordination, and commissioning punch lists routinely extend project timelines by six to twelve months. A modular approach collapses this timeline dramatically — a pre-engineered modular server room can be operational within eight weeks of order, with all components factory-tested before shipment. For organisations that need data infrastructure urgently — to meet a regulatory deadline, to bring a new application online, or to recover from a disaster — this speed advantage is transformative. We partner with Vericom to deliver modular data centre solutions across Bangladesh, providing end-to-end project management from site assessment to commissioning and beyond.

Brochure summary: SSAL delivers modular data centre solutions including micro data centres and containment systems for indoor and outdoor deployment. Integrating power, cooling, racks, and networking, these scalable solutions enable rapid implementation, flexibility to switch locations, and efficiency — transforming traditional data centre infrastructure for enterprises, telecom operators, and financial institutions.

Rapid Deployment

Modular data centres deploy in eight to sixteen weeks from order to operations — compared to twelve to eighteen months for traditional construction. For organisations facing regulatory deadlines or business continuity requirements, this speed advantage is often decisive.

TIA-942 Tier I–IV Compliance

Every modular data centre we design is benchmarked against TIA-942 Tier methodology. We document the compliance basis for each tier claim — essential for colocation operators, financial institutions, and government clients whose customers require evidence of infrastructure resilience.

Precision Cooling (CRAC/CRAH)

Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) and Computer Room Air Handling (CRAH) units maintain temperature within ±1°C and humidity within ±5% RH — essential for semiconductor reliability and preventing condensation on server components. Hot aisle/cold aisle containment eliminates air mixing and improves cooling efficiency by up to 40%.

Online Double-Conversion UPS

Online double-conversion UPS systems provide zero transfer time on utility power failure — the IT load never sees a power interruption. Lithium-ion battery options reduce footprint by 50% versus VRLA lead-acid batteries while delivering longer service life and real-time battery health monitoring.

Intelligent Power Distribution (PDU)

Rack-mounted intelligent PDUs with per-outlet metering, remote switching, and threshold alerting provide granular power visibility at the server level — enabling accurate capacity planning and early detection of power anomalies before they become outages.

Process

How it works

One accountable team from first site visit to handover — certified engineers, manufacturer-trained installers, and documented compliance at every stage.

  1. Requirements Definition

We work with your IT, facilities, and finance teams to define your data centre requirements: IT load capacity (kW), rack count, power redundancy level (N, N+1, 2N), cooling approach, physical security requirements, and target TIA-942 Tier level. We also assess your site constraints — floor load capacity, available floor area, ceiling height, building services connections (power, cooling water, drainage), and access for delivery of modular components.

  2. System Design & Tier Compliance

We produce a modular data centre design that achieves your target TIA-942 Tier level. Tier I provides basic capacity with planned maintenance requiring downtime. Tier II adds redundant components. Tier III is concurrently maintainable — any component can be taken offline for maintenance without interrupting IT operations. Tier IV is fault tolerant, with two completely independent delivery paths for all infrastructure. Design documentation includes power distribution single-line diagrams, cooling system schematics, network cabling layouts, and physical security integration drawings.

  3. Factory Build & Testing

Vericom's modular data centre components are engineered and assembled in a controlled factory environment. Precision cooling units, UPS systems, PDUs, and rack systems are factory-configured and tested before shipment. This factory acceptance testing (FAT) eliminates the most common sources of commissioning delay — wiring errors, firmware incompatibilities, and configuration mistakes that typically surface only when equipment is installed on site.

  4. Site Preparation & Civil Works

We coordinate and supervise the civil preparation works at your site: concrete slab assessment and reinforcement (if needed for floor load), power supply termination (HV/LV switchgear, generator connection), chilled water supply (for chilled water cooling systems), access road and delivery crane planning, and raised floor installation. BNBC 2020 structural and electrical requirements govern all civil works.

  5. Installation & Integration

Modular components are delivered to site and positioned using crane or forklift. Our engineers connect power, cooling, network, and management interfaces between modules. Physical security systems — biometric access control, CCTV, and FM-200 or VESDA fire suppression — are integrated with the building management system and security operations platform. Structured cabling is installed to TIA-942 within the data centre white space.

  6. Commissioning & Handover

We conduct integrated commissioning testing: IT load testing, cooling system performance verification (PUE measurement), UPS switchover testing, generator load transfer testing, fire suppression abort and discharge testing, and access control and CCTV verification. You receive a commissioning report, as-built drawings, equipment warranties, and a facilities management handover package covering preventive maintenance schedules for all systems.
