Compatibility & Integration

Outdoor PIR detectors connect via hardwired N/C zone and separate tamper/anti-masking zone to any Grade 3 compatible alarm panel. SSAL integrates outdoor detectors with Bosch DS151i, Honeywell DT8016F, and Ajax MotionProtect Outdoor panels. Anti-masking output connects to a dedicated tamper zone — this is particularly important for outdoor installations where masking is a realistic attack vector and the panel must be able to distinguish between an intrusion alarm and a detector masking event.

Smart Safety & Automations Ltd. designs outdoor detector coverage plans using geometric modelling to confirm detection of all approach paths to the protected building at the specified mounting height and lens selection. SSAL positions outdoor detectors to avoid direct sunlight on the detector optical face (which can cause thermal saturation) and to minimise background thermal transitions (reflective surfaces, roof-line heat build-up). Commissioning includes walk-test of all coverage zones and anti-masking simulation test. Annual Maintenance Contracts include lens cleaning, sensitivity verification, and anti-masking function test.
