Overview

Product Summary

Future-Proof Your Network at 10Gbps. PoE++ Ready. LSZH. TIA-568-C.2 Certified. 305m Pull Box.

The choice of horizontal cable determines the performance ceiling of the entire structured cabling system for its entire service life — typically 15 to 25 years. Installing Cat5e today saves money on day one and costs far more in re-cabling when the next technology generation (10GbE, higher-wattage PoE, higher-bandwidth IP video) demands what Cat5e cannot deliver. Cat6A, installed today, supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet at the full 100m channel length, PoE++ (90W per port), and 500MHz bandwidth — providing the headroom that IP camera systems, wireless APs, IP phones, building automation devices, and workstations will demand for the next two decades.

SSAL specifies Cat6A U/UTP as the standard horizontal cabling specification for all new structured cabling installations, using TIA-568-C.2 certified cable from authorised brand partners including Commscope, Panduit, and Vericom.

Key Features

  • 10GBASE-T at 100m Full-Channel Length: Supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet transmission at the full 100m channel length (90m horizontal + 10m patch/equipment cord allowance) — the critical specification that Cat6 (augmented Cat5e) cannot guarantee at 10GbE speeds
  • 500MHz Bandwidth: Category 6A's 500MHz transmission bandwidth is double Cat6's 250MHz — provides the signal integrity margin required for 10GbE and headroom for emerging higher-speed applications at shorter channel lengths
  • U/UTP Construction (4-Pair, 23 AWG Solid Copper): Unshielded construction is simpler to install and terminate than shielded (F/UTP, S/FTP) alternatives in standard commercial building environments; 23 AWG solid conductor provides the lowest loop resistance per metre for maximum PoE power delivery efficiency
  • PoE++ Compatible (IEEE 802.3bt, 90W): 23 AWG conductor cross-section meets the minimum wire gauge requirement for IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 (90W) PoE delivery at 100m — supports the highest-power PoE devices including high-performance wireless APs (Wi-Fi 6E), pan-tilt-zoom cameras with IR heaters, and building automation controllers with integrated power supplies
  • LSZH Jacket (Low Smoke Zero Halogen): LSZH jacket material releases minimal smoke and no halogenic toxic gases when exposed to fire — critical for Bangladesh's high-rise commercial buildings under BNBC 2020 Part 4 fire safety requirements and for the safety of building occupants and fire fighters during evacuation
  • TIA-568-C.2 Certified: Tested and certified to the Telecommunications Industry Association's structured cabling standard — the specification referenced by Bangladesh Bank ICT Guideline v4.0, TIA-942 data centre standard, and BICSI data communications infrastructure standards
  • ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA Certified: Dual certification to both North American (TIA) and international (ISO/IEC) standards — relevant for multinational tenants and developers who specify ISO/IEC standards in their global real estate standards
  • IEC 60332-1 Flame Retardant: Cable jacket passes the IEC vertical flame retardancy test — limits flame spread in cable tray runs and riser shafts in the event of a fire, complementing the LSZH jacket's low smoke emission characteristic
  • 305m (1,000ft) Pull Box: Standard international supply format — pull box design with directional arrows facilitates installation in ceiling voids, cable trays, and conduit without cable kinking; 305m matches the standard international construction package quantity
  • Colour Range: Grey (standard), white, blue, yellow, green, red, orange available — colour coding by application (grey = data, blue = VoIP, yellow = security, red = fire) simplifies identification in the patch room and cable tray

Typical Applications

  • Commercial Office Building — Horizontal Cabling: Cat6A to every workstation outlet and wireless AP from the telecommunications room — supports current 1GbE and future 10GbE to the desktop; PoE++ headroom accommodates next-generation wireless AP power requirements
  • Hospital and Healthcare — Secure Network Cabling: LSZH jacket is specified for healthcare facilities under BNBC 2020 and NFPA 101; Cat6A future-proofs the cabling for IP-based medical imaging (DICOM), electronic patient record (EPR) terminals, and nurse call systems
  • Bank Branch — Structured Cabling for Bangladesh Bank ICT Compliance: Cat6A provides the 10GbE capability and certified performance required for bank branch core network infrastructure; LSZH jacketing meets fire safety requirements for data rooms
  • Data Centre — Top-of-Rack to Patch Panel: Short-length horizontal Cat6A runs from server rack patch panel to access switch; 500MHz bandwidth supports 10GbE interconnection within the data hall
  • RMG Factory — IP CCTV Network: Cat6A PoE++ supports the power delivery demands of outdoor bullet cameras with IR heaters and PTZ cameras with built-in heater/blower in Bangladesh's temperature extremes
  • School and University Campus — Classroom Technology: Cat6A to interactive flat panels (IFPs), teacher workstations, and wireless APs; PoE++ eliminates separate power supply for high-power interactive displays

Compatibility & Integration

Cat6A U/UTP cable terminates to Cat6A RJ-45 keystone jacks and patch panels from the same manufacturer for certified channel performance — SSAL provides complete certified channel solutions including cable, jacks, and patch panels from Commscope, Panduit, and Vericom. Channel certification testing (using Fluke DSX-8000 or equivalent Level IV field tester) at project completion provides the test certificate required for manufacturer's 15-year channel warranty and Bangladesh Bank structured cabling compliance documentation.
