Empower your team with expert knowledge.
Three training programmes — from free operator training with every installation to a certified engineer programme with Hikvision, ZKTeco, and Honeywell brand certification preparation.
A technology system is only as effective as the people who operate and manage it. The most sophisticated CCTV installation is undermined if security staff do not know how to review footage efficiently. The most carefully designed access control system creates problems if administrators cannot manage users accurately. A fire alarm system fails in its purpose if the building's occupants do not know how to respond to an alert.
SSAL's training programme ensures that your team — at every level, from day-to-day operators to system administrators to your own technical staff — has the knowledge they need to get maximum value from your technology investment.
We offer three distinct training programmes designed to address the different knowledge needs of different roles within your organisation.
From daily operators to certified engineers
Every programme is delivered by SSAL engineers on real systems — not slideware.
Programme 1
Operator Training
Who it's for · Security guards, receptionists, control room operators, and other staff who interact with your system daily — monitoring cameras, responding to alarms, and managing basic access control functions.
Security Surveillance
- Navigating the VMS or NVR interface — live view, camera switching, and layout management
- Searching and retrieving recorded footage — date, time, and event-based retrieval
- Exporting footage clips for reporting or evidence purposes
- Understanding and responding to motion detection and video analytics alerts
- Basic troubleshooting — recognising and reporting camera offline, recording failure, and storage alerts
- Emergency procedures — what to do during a critical security event
Access Control
- Monitoring the access control platform — who is where, recent events, and alarm conditions
- Responding to door forced, door held open, and access denied alerts
- Manually releasing or locking doors in emergency situations
- Generating basic access reports — by person, by door, or by time period
- Escalation procedures — when to escalate an access control issue to a manager or administrator
Fire Alarm
- Understanding the fire alarm panel display — zone status, fault indicators, and alarm conditions
- Responding correctly to a fire alarm activation — investigation, confirmation, and evacuation decision
- Silencing and resetting the panel following a confirmed alarm and all-clear
- Recognising and reporting fault conditions
- Monthly test procedures — how to test and log an alarm test correctly
Public Announcement
- Making routine and emergency announcements
- Selecting correct zones for targeted announcements
- Activating pre-recorded evacuation messages
Programme 2
System Administrator Training
Who it's for · IT managers, security managers, facility managers, and senior administrators responsible for accounts, configuration, reports, and integrations.
Surveillance Administration
- Adding, modifying, and removing cameras from the VMS
- Configuring recording schedules, quality settings, and storage management
- Setting up and configuring motion detection zones and video analytics
- Managing user accounts and access permissions within the VMS
- Configuring email and push notification alerts
- Generating standard and custom reports — attendance, event logs, storage usage
- Performing and verifying system health checks
- Managing NVR hard drive health and replacement scheduling
Access Control Administration
- Adding and removing users — enrollment of fingerprint, face, and card credentials
- Creating and modifying access permission profiles
- Managing time schedules and holiday calendars
- Generating access reports — by person, by door, by department, by time period
- Integration management — HR system synchronisation, visitor management
- Audit trail management and compliance reporting
- Managing anti-passback and multi-person authentication rules
- User account management within ZKBioSecurity, Honeywell Pro-Watch, or other installed platform
Fire Alarm Administration
- Understanding the full zone map and detector list
- Adding and removing addressable devices from the loop
- Setting up cause-and-effect logic
- Managing maintenance mode and test mode functions
- Generating fault, alarm, and maintenance event reports
- Pre-alarm and evacuation sequence configuration review
Network Administration
- Network switch management — VLAN configuration review, port management
- IP address scheme and camera/device IP management
- Bandwidth monitoring and performance review
- Remote access configuration and management
Programme 3
Certified Engineer Programme
Who it's for · In-house IT, security, and facilities engineers developing hands-on capability equivalent to SSAL installation and maintenance level — plus brand certification candidates.
Hikvision CCTV
- HCSA (Hikvision Certified Security Associate) certification preparation
- HCSP (Hikvision Certified Security Professional) certification preparation
ZKTeco Access Control
- Practical installation and configuration
- ZKBioSecurity administration certification
Honeywell Fire Alarm
- Panel design, installation, and commissioning for Honeywell fire systems
Structured Cabling
- TIA-568 installation standards, termination, testing, and certification
Crestron Automation
- DM signal management
- Room control programming fundamentals
Ongoing CPD: The security and automation technology sector evolves rapidly. SSAL's certified engineer programme includes an annual CPD day for enrolled participants covering new technology, product updates, and regulatory changes. CPD is included in the original programme fee for the first year.
Brand Certification Examinations: Where brand manufacturer examination is part of the certification (e.g., Hikvision HCSA/HCSP), SSAL will coordinate examination scheduling and facility access. Examination fees are typically payable directly to the brand manufacturer and are not included in SSAL's training fee.
Training delivery options
Three delivery modes — pick the one that fits your team and timeline.
On-Site at Your Premises
SSAL engineers travel to your facility to deliver training in your operational environment. Most effective for operator training, as it takes place on the actual system your team will use. Available nationwide.
Classroom at SSAL Training Centre, Dhaka
Small-group classroom sessions at our Dhaka training facility provide a structured learning environment with dedicated training systems and SSAL demonstration equipment.
Online Modules (Phase 2)
SSAL is developing an online learning platform covering all three training programmes in self-paced module format. This will include video tutorials, knowledge-check quizzes, and downloadable reference guides. Launch date to be announced.
