Physical access control for server rooms, structured cabling, modular data centre fit-out, surveillance, and fire suppression.
Tier III Physical Security for Bangladesh's Growing Data Infrastructure.
Bangladesh's digital economy depends on physical infrastructure — data centres, telecom base stations, internet exchange points, and network operation centres — that must be physically secure as well as technically resilient. A server room with an unlocked door and a conventional smoke detector is not a Tier III data centre. It is a liability. Real Tier III physical security requires multi-layer access control with biometric authentication at every zone boundary, 24/7 CCTV with zero blind spots, clean-agent fire suppression that protects servers without destroying them with water, structured cabling designed for current 400G speeds and future capacity, and a complete digital audit trail for every human interaction with your infrastructure.
SSAL designs and delivers physical security and infrastructure systems for Bangladesh's data centres, telecom operators, and internet service providers. We understand the Uptime Institute Tier certification requirements, the BTRC regulatory framework, and the operational reality of infrastructure that cannot go down.
Bangladesh Telecom and Data Centre Sector Overview
Bangladesh's data centre market is at an inflection point. Yotta Infrastructure's BDT 20 billion hyperscale data centre investment in Nayarhat signals the arrival of institutional-scale data centre investment in Bangladesh. Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City in Kaliakoir hosts multiple data centre facilities serving both domestic and regional demand. Government initiatives to establish Bangladesh as a regional data hub have created a pipeline of large-scale data centre projects that require sophisticated physical security infrastructure from day one.
The telecom sector is equally significant. Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi, and Teletalk operate thousands of base stations, dozens of switching centres, and multiple network operation centres across Bangladesh. Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) manages the submarine cable landing stations that connect Bangladesh to global internet infrastructure. These facilities are critical national infrastructure — disruption to any of them has cascading effects across the digital economy that Bangladesh depends on.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) sets licensing conditions for telecom operators and data centre providers that include physical security requirements. International standards — the Uptime Institute Tier classification system, TIA-942, and ISO 27001 — are increasingly applied to Bangladeshi data centre projects by international clients and investors who require documented compliance.
SSAL's Integrated Data Centre Physical Security Solution
We approach data centre physical security as an engineering discipline, not a product sales exercise. Every element of our data centre security design is developed against Uptime Institute Tier requirements, TIA-942 guidelines, and the specific security policy of your facility. We produce detailed security design documents — zone drawings, access matrix tables, camera coverage maps, and fire suppression system specifications — that become part of your data centre's technical documentation package.
Our integrated data centre security framework links your multi-layer access control system, comprehensive CCTV platform, fire detection and suppression infrastructure, environmental monitoring, and structured cabling into a coordinated physical infrastructure. Your NOC team monitors all of these systems from a unified management platform. Access events, CCTV footage, environmental alarms, and contractor visit logs are all accessible from a single workstation with role-based views for your security team, your operations team, and your compliance team.
We also offer modular data centre infrastructure solutions — pre-engineered, factory-tested data centre modules that reduce site construction time and guarantee compliance with Tier III physical requirements from day one of deployment.

Key Challenges Facing Bangladesh's Telecom and Data Centre Sector
Multi-Layer Zone Access Control: Tier III Requirements
A Tier III data centre is physically divided into multiple security zones: the outer perimeter, the building lobby, the co-location hall entrance, the customer cage or suite, and the individual cabinet. Each zone boundary requires a distinct access credential and a separate access event log. A visitor from a co-location client must be escorted from the lobby to their cabinet by an authorised data centre escort — and every step of that journey must be logged. Implementing this correctly requires an access control platform with hierarchical zone management, anti-passback enforcement, and mandatory escort workflows.
24/7 CCTV Coverage with Zero Blind Spots
Data centres and network operation centres require complete CCTV coverage with no blind spots. Every aisle between server racks, every cabinet access point, every raised floor access panel, and every external door must be covered. Recording must be continuous, with footage retained for a minimum period that satisfies your security policy and any regulatory requirements. Your monitoring team must be able to retrieve specific footage clips quickly for security incident investigation. AI-based motion detection and anomalous behaviour alerts add a proactive layer on top of passive recording.
Structured Cabling for 400G and Beyond
A data centre's physical cabling infrastructure is as important as its security infrastructure. Structured cabling designed for current 400G speed requirements — using single-mode fibre for long runs, OM4/OM5 multimode for intra-row connections, and high-density fibre cassette solutions for the main distribution frame — provides the bandwidth capacity and reliability that your co-location clients pay for. Poor cabling quality causes packet loss, performance degradation, and client complaints. It also creates the physical cable management chaos that makes security monitoring and maintenance impossible.
Clean-Agent Fire Suppression for Server Rooms
Traditional water sprinkler systems destroy the equipment they are designed to protect. A server room fire suppression system must detect fire at the pre-combustion stage — using very early smoke detection apparatus (VESDA) or high-sensitivity aspirating smoke detectors — and suppress it with a clean agent: FM-200, Novec 1230, or inert gas mixtures that are safe for electronic equipment and do not damage equipment that was not itself on fire. The suppression system must also prevent accidental discharge, which would itself cause significant equipment damage.
Managing Contractor Access with Full Audit Trails
Data centres host contractors from equipment vendors, clients, and maintenance providers on a daily basis. Each contractor visit must be pre-authorised, time-limited, zone-restricted, and fully logged. Contractors must not be able to access any area other than the specific zone they have been authorised for. A contractor who accidentally (or deliberately) enters an unauthorised zone is a data breach risk. Your access control system must make this physically impossible, not just procedurally prohibited.
UPS, Cooling, and Physical Infrastructure Monitoring
Data centre physical security extends beyond access control and CCTV to include environmental monitoring of the critical systems that keep your servers running. UPS status, cooling unit performance, temperature and humidity levels, and water leak detection under the raised floor all require monitoring and alerting. An undetected cooling failure at 2 AM is a catastrophic risk to your uptime SLAs and your client contracts.
